１．ヒュルケンベルグ以外は全員ミディアムタイヤでスタート。気温19度、路面温度23度。夜間なので低めの温度。ラッセルのスタートは悪くなかったものの3番手にポジションを落とす。1コーナーでノリスがフェルスタッペンを窺うが、フェルスタッペンがトップ堅守。オコン、コラピント、ヒュルケンベルグの3台がクラッシュ。セーフティカー導入。
２．ハミルトンがジャンプスタートで5秒ペナルティ。
４．ツノダが10番手まで順位を上げる。
５．再スタート。ピアストリがルクレールをかわして4位。ハミルトンが8位に順位を上げる。
１０．ツノダのペースが上がらず、14番手。
２３．ラッセルがピット。7秒のスローストップとなってしまう。
２９．アルボンの右ミラーが脱落。ホームストレート上に置き去りになり、ダブルイエロ－フラッグ。
３０．ダブルイエロ－フラッグのストレートをノリスは8速全開で通過。44周目に10秒ペナルティが課された。
３４．ルクレールにラインを譲った、周回遅れのボッタスがミラーを踏んでしまい、ミラーは粉々に。デブリが散乱。
３５．ハミルトン、サインツがデブリを踏んで左フロントをパンク。こんなことが・・。フェルスタッペン、ノリス、ルクレール、ピアストリ、ペレス、サインツ、ガスリー、ラッセル、アロンソ、ハミルトンのトップ10。 ピアストリがピット。
３６．サインツがピットでパンクしたタイヤを交換。直後、セーフティカー導入。フェルスタッペン以下、続々とピット。
３７．デブリ除去までホームストレートを通過できないため、セーフティカー先導でピットレーンを進む隊列。しかしハミルトンがピットレーン速度違反でペナルティ。
３８．ラッセルがセーフティカー中の10車身ルールを忘れたのか20車身近く前の車と離れ、5秒ペナルティ。ペレスはセーフティカー中に単独スピンして最下位に・・。
４０．レース再開。ガスリーがサインツをかわして6位。ヒュルケンベルグがターン10でスピンしてグラベルに掴まりリタイア。ペレスもその後マシンを停めていた。ヴァーチャルセーフティカー導入。
４３．さらに再スタート。3位ルクレールが前のノリスを積極的に攻める。
４４．ファステストを出しながらトップのフェルスタッペンを追っていたノリスに10秒ペナルティで、現在の10秒は最後尾まで脱落する計算となる。
５７．ルクレールはストレートの速いガスリーを最後まで攻略できず。マクラーレンとフェラーリのコンストラクターズ2位争いは最終戦アブダビに持ち越し。フェルスタッペンが実力を発揮して波乱のレースを制した。ジョウが8位フィニッシュで、ザウバー今シーズン初ポイントを獲得。

1. All drivers started on medium tires except Hülkenberg. With air temperature at 19°C and track temp at 23°C, conditions were on the cooler side under the night sky.
Russell didn’t get a poor launch, but still lost position to P3.
Into Turn 1, Norris made a move on Verstappen, but Verstappen held firm to maintain the lead.
Then chaos—Ocon, Colapinto, and Hülkenberg crashed, bringing out the Safety Car.
2. Hamilton was handed a 5-second penalty for a jump start.
4. Tsunoda climbed to P10.
5. Race restart. Piastri overtook Leclerc for P4.
Hamilton moved up to P8.
10. Tsunoda’s pace began to drop—he slipped to P14.
23. Russell pitted, but suffered a slow stop of 7 seconds.
29. Albon’s right side mirror detached and landed on the main straight, triggering a double yellow flag.
30. Norris flew down the double-yellow flagged straight at full throttle in 8th gear—he would later receive a 10-second penalty on lap 44.
34. As lapped Bottas moved aside for Leclerc, he ran over the dislodged mirror, shattering it into debris across the track.
35. Both Hamilton and Sainz suffered left-front punctures after running over the debris.
Top 10 at the time: Verstappen, Norris, Leclerc, Piastri, Pérez, Sainz, Gasly, Russell, Alonso, Hamilton.
Piastri pitted.
36. Sainz pitted to replace his punctured tire.
Immediately after, the Safety Car was deployed. Verstappen and others dove into the pits.
37. With debris still covering the main straight, the field was led through the pit lane behind the Safety Car.
Hamilton was penalized for speeding in the pit lane.
38. Russell appeared to forget the Safety Car’s 10-car-length rule—he left nearly 20 car lengths ahead and was penalized 5 seconds.
Pérez spun under the Safety Car and dropped to last.
40. Race resumed. Gasly overtook Sainz for P6.
Hülkenberg spun at Turn 10 and got stuck in the gravel—race over.
Pérez also came to a stop. Virtual Safety Car deployed.
43. Another restart.
Leclerc, in P3, launched a full-on attack on Norris ahead.
44. Norris, who had been chasing Verstappen for the lead with fastest laps, was served the 10-second penalty for the yellow flag violation.
This would likely drop him to the very back by race end.
57. Leclerc couldn’t find a way past the straight-line speed of Gasly.
The battle for P2 in the Constructors’ Championship between McLaren and Ferrari would now go to the final round in Abu Dhabi.
Verstappen kept his cool and claimed victory in a chaotic race.
Zhou finished P8, scoring Sauber’s first points of the season.
