F. 過去7回のレースで4回のセーフティカーが1周目に出ている。オープニングラップの1コーナーで荒ぶるドライバーは今年もいるのか。現地時間午後3時、フォーメーションラップ開始。PPのラッセルが勢いよくローンチ。Weekend attendanceは32万人の表示。
１．上位勢は順当なスタート。アントネッリがコースオフしていたように見える。ターン3でルクレールがトップのラッセルに並ぶが、ラッセルが守る。ハミルトンがルクレールの前に出て2位。
２．アントネッリがルクレールをかわして3位となったが、コース外からなのでポジションを戻す。ルクレールの加速が悪いように見える。フェルスタッペンがルクレールをかわして3位。
３．ハミルトンがファステスト。ボッタスが無線で、ブレーキに火が点いているとのこと。
４．ローソンも無線でマシンが熱くなっている旨を訴えている。
５．ラッセル、ハミルトン、フェルスタッペン、ルクレール、アントネッリ、ピアストリ、ノリス、ハジャー、ローソン、リンドブラッドのトップ10。
６．レースリーダーのラッセルがファステスト更新。 キャデラック2台、ペレスとボッタスはいずれもブレーキトラブルでリタイア。
７．アントネッリがターン8からターン9の短いストレートでルクレールをかわして4位。
１１．フェルスタッペンが一度前へ出るものの、2位ハミルトンもサイドバイサイドで譲らない。グラベルをお互いに拾いながらも順位変わらず、譲れない王者同士のバトルを迫力ある立体的なドローン空撮映像で。
１３．ハミルトンがピットイン。ハードにチェンジして11位復帰。
１４．ルクレールもピット。2.7秒静止で11位復帰。
１８．2位フェルスタッペンのレースペースが良い。先にピットに入った7位ハミルトンとのギャップを気にしている。現在差はちょうど20秒。
１９．フェルスタッペンがピット。2.4秒静止で6位復帰。ハミルトンの2秒後ろに戻った。トップのラッセルがピット。2.3秒静止で2位復帰。ピアストリもピットインし、3.0秒静止して7位復帰。
２０．アントネッリ、ノリス、ラッセル、ハミルトン、フェルスタッペン、ルクレール、ピアストリ、ハジャー、ヒュルケンベルグ、ローソン、リンドブラッドのトップ10。
２２．ノリスがピット。3.0秒静止で8位復帰。またもフェルスタッペンとハミルトンのバトル。11周目と同様のバトルがスタートしたが、ブレーキング不調を訴えたハミルトンが2度オーバーテイクを許した。フェルスタッペンが3位浮上。
２５．サインツがホームストレートでマシンを停めてリタイア。エンジンが悲鳴を上げた。VSC導入。即座に反応したアントネッリがここでピットインするものの、イエローフラッグでうまみは無いか。5位で復帰。
２６．ハミルトンも本来は前の周で入りたかったようだが、再度のピットストップを実施。7位復帰。ここからかなり好ペースを維持しないと、今のピットストップはややもったいない印象となってしまう。
２７．アントネッリが左右のブレーキの効き方の違いを無線で訴える。
３０．ラッセル、フェルスタッペン、ルクレール、アントネッリ、ピアストリ、ハジャー、ハミルトン、ノリス、リンドブラッド、ローソンのトップ10。 ターン4でアントネッリがルクレールをかわして3位に。
３１．ハミルトンがハジャーをかわして6位。リプレイ映像のため1～2周前と思われる。
３２．ハミルトンへチーム無線：Mode TS. → ハミルトン返答：Why do I have to go to mode TS? → チーム返答：Temperature. → ハミルトン返答：I already have no power. 川井氏解説；モードTSとは出力を抑えてクーリングを促すモードと推察できます。
３４．ハミルトン無線：Has the car cooled down yet? → チーム返答：Mode Race. 川井氏解説；先ほどハジャーの後ろに居たため、マシン温度に苦しんだ様子です。既にモードは戻されているようです。
３７．登坂のヘアピン(ターン3)でピアストリがルクレールをかわして4位。直後にハミルトンもルクレールをかわして5位。
３８．ルクレールがピットイン。タイヤも厳しかったとみられる。2.1秒静止で8位復帰。
３９．川井氏解説；先ほどのルクレールのピットはあんな空撮ではなくアップで見せてほしかったですね。フロントウイング翼端板を破損していた記憶がありますが、この静止時間では調整はしていないでしょう。
４０．トップ快走するラッセルにややオーバーシュートがあったリプレイ映像。ただ2位フェルスタッペンが1.3秒後方に迫る。
４１．川井氏解説；マックスはミディアムは穿かないでしょう。レースペースが相当良いです。 19位走行中アロンソにピットレーン速度違反で5秒ペナルティ。
４３．4位ピアストリと5位ハミルトンが同時ピットイン。ピアストリは静止2.3秒、ハミルトンは2.2秒となりギャップは変わらず。 ルクレールにファステスト。
４４．ラッセルがピット。2.3秒静止で3位復帰。 フェルスタッペン、アントネッリ、ラッセル、ノリス、ルクレール、ピアストリ、ハミルトン、ハジャー、リンドブラッド、ローソンのトップ10。
４７．ストロールがピットへ戻ってリタイア。
４８．4位走行中のノリスがピット。8位で復帰。リリース時にコラピントと数秒間並走してしまった。 ピアストリがルクレールをかわして4位。
４９．フェルスタッペンがピット。2.2秒静止でハードタイヤにチェンジして3位復帰。
５１．上位勢で最もピットを遅らせたアントネッリがここでピット。3位復帰。 アロンソは5秒ペナルティを消化中。 ハミルトンがルクレールをかわして5位。
５２．アルボンがコース脇のポールをサーキット上に飛ばしてしまったため、マーシャルが回収。一瞬VSC導入となったがすぐに解除。
５５．アントネッリが好ペースでとばしている。ファステスト更新。トップのラッセルと2位フェルスタッペンとの差は8.5秒まで開いている。
５６．ハジャーがルクレールを交わして6位。ルクレールも好戦的にブロックしたがハジャーが上手となった。 ルクレール無線：These tyers are ****.
５９．ルクレールが無線で再度タイヤを変えたい旨を訴えるが、チームに却下された。後ろの9位ローソンとは40秒以上のギャップがあるため、フリーピットを得られそうだが。
６０．ピットの返答に反してルクレールはフリーピットストップを敢行。8位キープし、ローソンとの差は21秒。
６２．ラッセル、フェルスタッペン、アントネッリ、ピアストリ、ハミルトン、ハジャー、ノリス、ルクレール、ローソン、リンドブラッドのトップ10。
６３．川井氏解説；現在5位走行のハミルトンはスターティンググリッドから2つ順位を落としていますが、VSC下でのピットストップが余計でしたね。
６７．ドライバーオブザデイはフェルスタッペンの模様。 森脇氏解説；ハジャーも6位走行でよく戦っていますね。しかしトップのラッセルはとても丁寧にドライビングしているのが伝わります。
６９．2位フェルスタッペンを3位アントネッリが1.3秒差と追い詰める。
７１．アントネッリは2位フェルスタッペンを0.4秒に追い込む。フェルスタッペンもペースを失わない。 ラッセルが55周をリードして圧巻のチェッカー。フェルスタッペンが2位を堅守した。

There have been four first-lap Safety Cars in the last seven races at this circuit. Will another driver lose control into Turn 1 on the opening lap this year? At 3:00 p.m. local time, the formation lap gets underway. Pole-sitter Russell launches cleanly. Weekend attendance is announced as 320,000.

The front-runners make clean starts. Antonelli appears to run off the circuit briefly. Into Turn 3, Leclerc draws alongside race leader Russell, but Russell holds the position. Hamilton slips ahead of Leclerc into 2nd.

Antonelli overtakes Leclerc for 3rd, but having completed the move off the track, he gives the position back. Leclerc’s acceleration appears to be lacking. Verstappen then passes Leclerc to move into 3rd.

Hamilton sets the fastest lap. Bottas reports over the radio that his brakes are on fire.

Lawson also radios that his car is overheating.

Top 10: Russell, Hamilton, Verstappen, Leclerc, Antonelli, Piastri, Norris, Hadjar, Lawson, Lindblad.

Race leader Russell improves the fastest lap again. Both Cadillacs, Pérez and Bottas, retire with brake failures.

Antonelli overtakes Leclerc for 4th on the short straight between Turns 8 and 9.

Verstappen briefly edges ahead, but Hamilton refuses to yield, running side-by-side. Both cars kick up gravel as the two world champions battle fiercely, captured beautifully by the dramatic aerial drone shots. No position change.

Hamilton pits, switches to hard tyres, and rejoins in 11th.

Leclerc also pits. A 2.7-second stop sees him rejoin in 11th.

Verstappen, running 2nd, has excellent race pace. He is monitoring the gap to Hamilton, who stopped earlier and is running 7th. The gap currently stands at exactly 20 seconds.

Verstappen pits. A 2.4-second stop brings him back out in 6th, two seconds behind Hamilton. Leader Russell also pits, completing a 2.3-second stop and rejoining in 2nd. Piastri pits as well, stopping for 3.0 seconds before rejoining in 7th.

Top 10: Antonelli, Norris, Russell, Hamilton, Verstappen, Leclerc, Piastri, Hadjar, Hülkenberg, Lawson, Lindblad.

Norris pits. A 3.0-second stop drops him to 8th. Meanwhile, Verstappen and Hamilton resume the same battle seen on Lap 11. Hamilton, who reports brake problems, is eventually passed twice, allowing Verstappen to move up into 3rd.

Sainz pulls over on the home straight and retires as his engine cries enough. VSC deployed. Antonelli reacts instantly and pits, though with the yellow flags already out there is little strategic gain. He rejoins in 5th.

Hamilton, who apparently wanted to pit the previous lap, makes another stop and rejoins in 7th. He will now need to maintain very strong pace for this stop to prove worthwhile.

Antonelli reports over the radio that the left and right brakes are behaving differently.

Top 10: Russell, Verstappen, Leclerc, Antonelli, Piastri, Hadjar, Hamilton, Norris, Lindblad, Lawson. Antonelli overtakes Leclerc for 3rd at Turn 4.

Hamilton passes Hadjar for 6th. Judging from the replay, the move likely happened one or two laps earlier.

Hamilton: “Why do I have to go to Mode TS?”
Team: “Temperature.”
Hamilton: “I already have no power.”
Kawai: “Mode TS is likely a cooling mode that reduces engine output.”

Team: “Mode Race.”
Kawai: “Following Hadjar earlier caused the car temperatures to rise significantly. It seems they’ve now switched him back to race mode.”

At the uphill hairpin, Turn 3, Piastri passes Leclerc for 4th. Moments later, Hamilton also overtakes Leclerc to move into 5th.

Leclerc pits. His tyres appear to have reached their limit. A quick 2.1-second stop brings him back out in 8th.

Kawai: “I wish they’d shown Leclerc’s pit stop close-up instead of from that aerial shot. I thought his front-wing endplate had been damaged, but with a stop that quick they clearly didn’t repair anything.”

A replay shows leader Russell running slightly wide, but Verstappen has now closed to within 1.3 seconds in 2nd.

Kawai: “I don’t think Max will use the medium tyre. His race pace is simply too strong.” Alonso, running 19th, receives a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

Piastri in 4th and Hamilton in 5th pit together. Piastri stops for 2.3 seconds, Hamilton for 2.2 seconds, leaving the gap between them unchanged. Leclerc sets the fastest lap.

Russell pits. A 2.3-second stop brings him back out in 3rd. Top 10: Verstappen, Antonelli, Russell, Norris, Leclerc, Piastri, Hamilton, Hadjar, Lindblad, Lawson.

Stroll returns to the pits and retires.

Norris, running 4th, pits and rejoins in 8th. On release, he runs side-by-side with Colapinto for several seconds. Piastri overtakes Leclerc for 4th.

Verstappen pits. A 2.2-second stop puts him onto hard tyres, and he rejoins in 3rd.

Antonelli, the last of the front-runners to stop, finally pits and rejoins in 3rd. Alonso serves his five-second penalty. Hamilton overtakes Leclerc for 5th.

Albon knocks a trackside marker onto the circuit, prompting marshals to retrieve it. A brief VSC is deployed but ends almost immediately.

Antonelli is flying, setting another fastest lap. The gap from leader Russell to Verstappen in 2nd has stretched to 8.5 seconds.

Hadjar overtakes Leclerc for 6th. Leclerc defends aggressively, but Hadjar completes the move brilliantly.
Leclerc radio: *”These tyres are ***.”

Leclerc again asks over the radio for fresh tyres, but the team refuses. With more than a 40-second gap back to Lawson in 9th, he appears to have a free pit stop available.

Ignoring the team’s response, Leclerc comes in for a free pit stop anyway. He retains 8th, with a 21-second cushion over Lawson.

Top 10: Russell, Verstappen, Antonelli, Piastri, Hamilton, Hadjar, Norris, Leclerc, Lawson, Lindblad.

Kawai: “Hamilton is currently running 5th, two places lower than where he started. That extra pit stop under the VSC really cost him.”

Verstappen appears to be leading the Driver of the Day vote. Moriwaki: “Hadjar has driven an excellent race as well, running 6th. But above all, you can see just how carefully Russell has managed this race.”

Antonelli gets within just 0.4 seconds of Verstappen, but Verstappen refuses to let his pace drop. Russell leads for 55 laps and takes a commanding victory. Verstappen holds on to secure 2nd place.
